In case you’d like to transfer a domain from one registrar company to another, you will need a unique domain name authorization code, which may be called by different names – an EPP authorization code, an Auth-Info code, a domain name password, and so on. All these names refer to the exact same thing – a code that the domain registrant obtains from the current domain name registrar and gives to the new one upon ordering. Without a valid code, a domain name transfer process cannot be initiated and this is one of the safety mechanisms against unsolicited transfer attempts used with all generic and with most country-specific extensions. For greater safety, the code includes digits and/or special characters and is case-sensitive, so in case you want to transfer one of your domain names, you have to supply the new domain name registrar with the right code.

EPP Transfer Protection in Hosting

In case you’ve got a hosting, you have registered a domain through us and you want to transfer it away from us, you can obtain its EPP transfer code with less than a couple of clicks of the mouse. When you sign into your Hepsia Control Panel and go to the Registered Domains section, you will see all the domain names that you’ve registered through our company displayed alphabetically. Next to each domain, you’ll see a small EPP icon for all generic and country-code top-level domain name extensions that require a code in order to be transferred between companies. Clicking on the icon will send the EPP code to the domain registrant’s email instantly. In the same section you can also find and ultimately modify the email, if the one there is no longer valid.

EPP Transfer Protection in Semi-dedicated Hosting

In case you’ve got a semi-dedicated server account with us and you have registered a domain that you’d like to transfer, you can obtain the EPP transfer code exceptionally easy through the Hepsia Control Panel, via which you’ll manage both your domain names and your account. If you visit the Registered Domains section, you’ll notice an EPP icon on the right side of your domain names, as long as their extensions support transfers between registrar companies with such a code. All codes are emailed automatically by our system to the registrant’s email address to ensure that only the owner of the domain can get this information. In case the currently entered address is no longer valid, you can change it with a couple of clicks of the mouse without having to leave this section of the Control Panel. The change is instantaneous, so you’ll be able to request the EPP transfer code for the specific domain straight away.
